Rainbow Honey- The Yokai

Today I am pleased to present the newest collection by Rainbow Honey called The Yokai. This is a limited edition collection for the fall. There are three polishes: Kawako, Kitsune and Oni. All photos are two coats of polish with base and top coat.

First up is Kawako a midnight blue with silver shimmer and purple flakes. I really liked this color, however the purple flakes made application a little tricky for me.

Next is Kitsune a creamy peach/beige base loaded with red micro glitter, gold shimmer and holo micro glitter. This was formula was a little thick, application was good however I also added a coat of Gelous before the top coat because this dries with quite a bit of texture due to the amount of glitter.

Last and definitely not least is my favorite of the trio Oni.I'm not sure how to describe Oni. It has a black or charcoal base with gold, red and purple shimmers. The gold is more predominant than the red and purple but it is there. This polish had the smoothest application of the three.

A big Thank you to Dee for sending these to me to review. Overall I really enjoyed this collection. It is quite different than the other Rainbow Honey shades. This will be available to purchase starting October 13 here. If you can only get one I suggest Oni.

Thanks for taking a look. What do you think?

Lynnderella- Common Sense

So I was able to acquire some of the new Lynn's through a swap. First up is Common Sense which I think may be my favorite of the four I received. It's a combination of copper and pink hexes with pink shimmer and some holographic micro glitters, simply gorgeous! I'm wearing one coat over two coats of Essie No More Film. All photos were taken outdoors on a semi overcast day.

I sooo love this combination! If you like a heavy glitter look than application of this polish is a breeze. I however wanted a lighter touch so application was a little challenging. I found it best to apply a thick dollop and then spread it around. Lynnderella polishes can only be purchased from her ebay store.

What do you think? Thanks for looking.

HARE polish- Dog Day Dream

Today I'm showing you my first HARE polish. I picked up several of her new shades in Nikole's recent pre-order. I'm wearing Dog Day Dream which is a red jelly with purple, fuschia, and orange glitter in various sizes of squares and hexes. I used one coat over two coats of OPI Houston we have a Purple.

The sun did not want to cooperate so all my pics in the shade.

This is one of my favorites from the new collections. Application was easy. I hard time trying to accurately capture the color in these photos, but if you like red you should definitely try this one. HARE polish can be purchased from her Esty store and will soon be available at Llarowe.

Thanks for checking this out. Let me know what you think.

Lacquistry- Phoenix Bird

Hello all. Today I'm excited to show you one of the custom polishes I ordered from Lacquistry. My idea for this polish was the mythical phoenix bird. I showed Jenna pictures of the color scheme I had in mind and left it to her to bring it to life. I am so pleased with how it turned out. Jenna was so easy to work with. Phoenix bird has micro red glitter, and red, orange, and purple medium hexes, plus black and gold holo mini hexes.

shade- love how the purple glitter really stands out in this pic

Pictures show one coat of Phoenix Bird over two coats of China Glaze Fast Track. Phoenix is chock full of glitter making it seem thick. Application was easy I just had to make sure I wiped the brush off really well before applying to the nail since so much glitter is picked up on the brush. Thank you so much Jenna for making such a beautiful polish!

Lacquistry polishes can be purchased here. Check there or her Facebook page for restock updates.

Pretty and Polished- Freedom Calling 4th of July

Happy Independence everyone! Today I have a short post to show you what I wore for the 4th of July. I did a jelly sandwich using Manglaze Mayo and OPI Don't Touch my Tutu with accent nail of Freedom Calling over Girly Bits Star Spangled.

This was a very fun polish and perfect for a patriotic mani. I did find the red bar glitter to be a little unruly and tried to avoid it as much as possible. Other than that I thought application was great! I won these in a giveaway Chels held a little over a month ago on her blog. It came as a trio with A Soldiers Liberty and On Equal Ground. Her polishes are sold on her Etsy store and will soon be available at Llarowe.

Pahlish- Pianos Filled with Flames

Hello all. Today I have a polish from one of my new favorite Indie producers. Pianos Filled with Flames is a sheer raspberry pink base with small red hex glitter / red, orange, gold, pink, purple, holographic micro glitter. It positively glows! I wore it over one of my favorite reds, OPI An Affair in Red Square. It does dry with a bit of texture so I used a coat of gelous plus top coat.

Here's a gorgeous closeup of the bottle:

Rainbow Honey- A Little Kindness

Well hello there friends! It's been a while. I apologize for my long absence. Today I have a polish I am very excited to share with you. When Dee first showed us swatches of this I literally gasped, I thought it was so pretty. I was not disappointed when I finally received it. I will borrow Dee's description "A Little Kindness- rose, white, gold, and soft green glitters floating in a delicate pale yellow base with an iridescent pink shimmer." I layered one coat over three coats of OPI Don't Touch my Tutu then topped it with Gelous and Poshe top coat.

I love the pink shimmer !

Since this is so full of glitter the polish was a little on the thick side, however application was still fairly easy. I just love how soft this color is. I can't wait to try it over some other base colors. Dee will be opening her shop up soon and you will be able to purchase this and other Equestria Collection polishes here.
What do you think? I hope you enjoyed my pics.

Hello Everyone! So today I'm going to show you Up Colors Verde 360° which I purchased from Llarowe. I'm glad I got it when I did because when I checked back the next day after she made these available it was sold out. Verde 360° is a turquoise linear holo. It is stunning! I couldn't stop taking pictures, I hope they do it justice. I wore two coats over base coat and all photos are with topcoat. Application was easy there was no streaking or bald spots.

 Check it out:

Lynnderella She Lived in a Swamp and Ozotic 507

Hello everyone. So sorry to have ignored my blog for so long, but I am back. I thought I would do a short post to show you some pretty polishes that had been sitting in my untried pile. I paired Ozotic 507 with Lynnderella She Lived in a Swamp to wear for St. Patrick's day. Yes, that was a while ago but anyway. I used two coats of 507 which is a gorgeous multi chrome. It shifts from gold, to green to almost blue at certain angles. SLiaS is a clear base packed with chartreuse hex and bar glitter, light green and dark green hex glitter of varying sizes. The dark green glitters are rather sparse. I didn't have any issues with application. I found it was best to dab the glitter on and then spread it around. I didn't take any pictures of 507 by itself. I'll have to do that on another post.
Take a look:

The golden shift in 507 really shows in these sunlight shots.

You can really see the different colors of glitter in these last two pics. Like I said the darker green glitter is very sparse and small. I think I managed to get a large green hex on my other hand.

Well, what did you think. Pretty cute and blingy for St. Patricks Day right? Ozotics can be purchased at several retailers like Harlow &Co, Ninja Polish and Llarowe which is where I got mine. Lynnderella is only available through Llarowe. It's best to check her website and Facebook page for updates on when and how she is taking orders for Lynnderella polishes.

Thanks for taking a look.

NerdLacquer Batcave

Happy Sunday Everyone! Today I have NerdLacquer Batcave. I had to get up pretty early to get this pretty, but I got it! It was well worth the trouble. Batcave is a charcoal black base with tons of silver shimmer, blue, purple and holographic hex glitter plus black square glitter. The pictures below are two coats of Batcave, one coat of gelous and one coat of topcoat. I tried Poshe topcoat for the first time. I thought it dried just as fast and shiny as Seche Vite. May switch to this since it does not contain Toluene. Anyways on with the pics...

You can see some of the square black  glitter in this pic. With the dark base it can be hard to see them.
Love the holographic sparkles.

Batcave is one shade in a NerdLacquer trio that is exclusive to Harlow &Co. She is currently out of stock, but will have this available again soon.

I hope you enjoyed this. Thanks for checking it out.

NerdLacquer Holy Grail

Well hello there! I couldn't wait to do today's post. This is a brand new Special Edition polish by NerdLacquer creator Amanda Collier. When her Etsy store finally opened back up I saw this and had to have it! She describes it as: "a super-fine-grained satiny linear holo in a dusty blue-green base with silver microglitter, medium blue-green iridescent glitter, and a liberal sprinkling of big square and hexagonal silver holo glitter. Oh, also? GLOWS IN THE DAMN DARK."
Now as much as glow in the dark may excite some people it doesn't do anything for me. She had me at linear holo plus glitter.
Application for this like the rest of her polishes I have tried was easy. It can be worn alone, it is opaque in two coats. I chose to layer it over OPI Thanks a Windmillion, which is a dusty light green, because I didn't want to cover up any of the glitter with multiple coats. One coat of Seche Vite is enough to get a nice smooth surface. I took lots of pics. Enjoy.

This is in the sun and shows off the linear holo effect. I know some have said that the holo effect is lessened with top coat. I did not have that problem.

sunlight
This is in the shade and you can better see the glitter in this pic and the next.

Well, what do you think. Pretty nice huh? As I mentioned I bought this directly from the NerdLacquer Etsy store. It can also be purchased at the new Ninja Polish store that just opened. Just be warned this polish retails for $16 due to the special ingredients most other NerdLacquers are $10.

I hope you enjoyed this. Thanks for checking it out.
